About the Position

The Bob Gaglardi School of Business and Economics at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) invites applications for a one-year limited term appointment in Management Information Systems/Analytics, starting September 2024. In this teaching-focused position, candidates will teach eight sections of 40 or fewer students each per academic year. Preference will be given to candidates with the ability to teach in a variety of Courses.

Our department is a collection of individuals interested in what keeps the modern world functioning. While we are defined as academics in supply chain, international business, strategic management, and management information systems we believe that we have a responsibility as global citizens to try to make the world a better place now and in the future. Our interests are broad but may be encompassed by two primary themes: global citizenship and data-driven decision making.

With over 4000 on-campus students the Gaglardi School of Business and Economics is the largest business school in the interior of British Columbia, offering undergraduate, post baccalaureate and graduate programs in business and economics including Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Environmental Economics and Management, Master of Science in Environmental Economics and Management. Gaglardi is also Thompson Rivers University’s largest faculty. QUALIFICATIONS

Gaglardi seeks applicants with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching in the field of Management Information Systems/Business Analytics. Significant education in business analytics, quantitative analysis or MIS is required for this position. While a PhD is preferred, applicants must minimally have a business masters degree with emphasis on the aforementioned areas. Relevant professional experience is highly desirable. Applicants must demonstrate excellent knowledge of a variety of business analytics, quantitative analysis and MIS topics and strong teaching skills based on experience at the post secondary level for consideration. The ability to teach multiple courses in the department is required.
